Job Description

ESUT seeks a highly skilled Biostatistics Data Scientist to contribute to our expanding research initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing complex statistical studies related to various health and biomedical research projects. This role involves collaborating with researchers across different departments, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making. You will be integral in shaping the future of research at ESUT, working in a collaborative and stimulating environment. The role involves managing large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and implementing advanced statistical methods. You will be involved in all phases of the research cycle, from study design to publication of findings. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to a dynamic research team within a prestigious university setting. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data analysis, thrives in a collaborative setting, and can clearly communicate complex findings to a diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct statistical analyses of complex biomedical data.
  • Develop and implement statistical models and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with researchers in designing and conducting research studies.
  • Prepare and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of large datasets.
  • Interpret and communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with advances in statistical methodology and biostatistics.
  • Contribute to the writing of research reports and publications.
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide support in statistical analysis.
  • Participate in the development of research grant proposals.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS)
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, survival analysis)
  • Experience in designing and conducting clinical trials or observational studies
  • Excellent data management and manipulation skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience working in a university or research setting
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Grant writing experience
  • Familiarity with various statistical programming languages (e.g., Python)
