Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the mall premises, including common areas, parking lots, and restricted zones.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment to identify and address security threats or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Deter theft, vandalism, and other unlawful acts by maintaining a visible and professional presence.
- Assist shoppers and staff with inquiries, directions, and provide first aid when necessary.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities and observations.
- Enforce mall rules and regulations to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Collaborate with mall management, law enforcement, and emergency services as required.
- Conduct bag checks and other security screenings as per mall policy.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid PSIRA Grade C or B registration.
- Minimum 18 months of experience as a security officer, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
- Proven ability to operate CCTV and alarm systems.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise incident reports.
- Strong understanding of security procedures and protocols.
- Physical fitness to perform patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Customer service orientation with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Prior experience in a large retail mall environment.
- Knowledge of local Lephalale security regulations and challenges.
