As a crucial member of the family’s support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, punctual, and comfortable transportation of family members to various destinations, including school runs, business meetings, social engagements, and errands. This role demands more than just driving; it requires a proactive approach to vehicle care, meticulous planning for routes, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and discretion. Given the live-in nature of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to reside on the family’s premises, fostering a sense of readiness and immediate availability while respecting the boundaries of a private family home. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport family members to various destinations (school, work, appointments, social events) in Ogba, Agege, and surrounding areas.
- Maintain the family's assigned vehicle(s) in pristine condition, ensuring cleanliness, regular servicing, and addressing any minor repairs promptly.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Plan optimal routes to minimize travel time and avoid traffic congestion, using navigation tools effectively.
- Manage vehicle documentation, including insurance, registration, and inspection schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and regulations, promoting a culture of safety.
- Exercise utmost discretion and confidentiality regarding the family's affairs and travel plans.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, groceries, and other items as required.
- Be available on short notice for urgent transportation needs, as typical for a live-in role.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance costs.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with family members and other household staff.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E/F preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, ideally within a private family or corporate setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, especially Ogba, Agege, Ikeja, and environs.
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic laws.
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
- Clear communication skills (verbal) in English.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
