Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine laboratory experiments and procedures following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Prepare reagents, media, and solutions accurately, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Maintain laboratory equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
- Record, organize, and analyze experimental data meticulously, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist senior researchers in setting up and dismantling experimental apparatus and complex instrumentation.
- Manage laboratory inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies to ensure continuous operations.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices within the laboratory.
- Contribute to the general upkeep and organization of the lab space, fostering a clean and efficient work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions, offering insights and learning from experienced colleagues.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- Fundamental understanding of laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, sterile technique, solution preparation).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills for data recording and sample management.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely and work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hands-on experience in a university or industrial laboratory setting, even through internships or academic projects.
