Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Green Building Design Engineer to join our team in Utako, Abuja. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, and green building certifications (such as LEED). This role requires a proactive individual with excellent design and technical skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of green building projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. The role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable construction in Nigeria. You will be working alongside a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to delivering innovative and environmentally conscious building designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sustainable building designs that meet client requirements and environmental standards.
  • Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize energy efficiency.
  • Select and specify sustainable building materials and technologies.
  • Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, such as architects, structural engineers, and MEP engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress.
  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for green building projects.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in green building technology and practices.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for clients.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Strong understanding of green building principles and certifications (LEED preferred)
  • Experience in energy modeling and analysis
  • Knowledge of sustainable building materials and technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Green Building Design, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional engineering license
  • Experience with BIM software
  • Experience with sustainable design tools and software
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
