Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment, ensuring they are clean and in excellent working order.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Process cash and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Monitor and replenish inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies, notifying management of shortages.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café area, including seating, counters, and service stations.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Stay informed about current coffee trends, brewing methods, and menu items to confidently answer guest inquiries.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and team members.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 6 months) as a Barista, preferably in a hotel or high-volume café setting.
- Exceptional knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction and latte art.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Excellent personal hygiene and professional presentation.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate transaction handling.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg.
- Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering high-quality beverages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a reputable barista training program.
- Experience with various alternative brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, Aeropress).
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices in a hospitality context.
