Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Waitstaff to join our vibrant Food & Beverage team, specializing in room & board service. As a crucial member of our hospitality service, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an outstanding dining experience for our guests, whether in our restaurant, through room service, or during special events. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests and present menus, offering detailed information on daily specials, menu items, and beverage selections.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing point-of-sale (POS) systems, and relaying them to kitchen and bar staff efficiently.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation standards are met and special requests are accommodated.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to any requests or concerns, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and sanitize work areas, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards.
- Prepare dining areas by setting tables, stocking linens, silverware, and glassware, and maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere.
- Process guest payments accurately, handle cash and card transactions, and manage billing inquiries.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service personnel to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, safety guidelines, and relevant health regulations.
- Assist with banquet and event setup and service as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory of dining room supplies and communicate needs to management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Waitstaff or in a similar customer service role, preferably within a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure in a dynamic service environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding order accuracy and service presentation.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic for handling payments and making change.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and hygiene standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Familiarity with POS systems specific to the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of various cuisines, wine pairings, and beverage preparation techniques.
- Multilingual abilities, particularly English and local Nigerian languages.
