Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze agricultural samples (e.g., grains, legumes, oilseeds) using standard laboratory techniques.
- Conduct routine physical and chemical tests to determine quality parameters such as moisture content, protein, fat, ash, and purity.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, moisture meters, analytical balances, and microscopes.
- Accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data, ensuring precise documentation of all procedures and results.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety guidelines, quality control procedures, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, reagents, and consumables, and assist with ordering supplies.
- Support senior researchers in setting up experiments and collecting data for ongoing R&D projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Communicate findings and observations effectively to the R&D team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Agricultural Science, or a related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
- Proficiency in using common laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, balances, centrifuges).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data collection and record-keeping.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Good observational skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and report generation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting (e.g., academic project, internship, volunteer work) is a plus.
