Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily comprehensive cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, and sanitising all bathrooms and kitchens to the highest possible standards.
- Manage all laundry requirements, including washing, delicate hand-washing, pressing, ironing, and meticulous organisation of clothing, linens, and household textiles.
- Ensure all rooms, common areas, and exterior patios/gardens (as applicable) are consistently tidy, impeccably organised, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Assist with basic meal preparation, serving, and clean-up when specifically required, ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene and safety standards.
- Handle grocery shopping, manage pantry inventory, and procure all necessary household supplies efficiently.
- Oversee the proper care, routine cleaning, and minor maintenance of all household items, fixtures, and appliances.
- Promptly identify and report any maintenance issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the relevant facilities management personnel.
- Maintain an exemplary level of respect, discretion, and professional demeanour at all times, respecting privacy and confidentiality.
- Execute special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning, seasonal cleaning, or preparation for special events, as needed.
- Welcome and attend to guests with professionalism and courtesy, assisting with their comfort and needs during their stay in the residence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a housemaid, domestic assistant, or steward in a corporate, high-net-worth private household, or a reputable hospitality setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a thorough, meticulous approach to cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation.
- Strong understanding of modern, effective cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and proper use of various cleaning products.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively, and manage time efficiently to complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Good verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of professional etiquette, discretion, and respectful interaction.
- Reliable, trustworthy, honest, and absolutely able to maintain confidentiality regarding household affairs.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform demanding cleaning tasks and manage a large household.
- A proactive and initiative-taking approach to household management, anticipating needs before they arise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or formal training in Household Management, Hospitality Services, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience with advanced laundry care techniques, including the handling of delicate fabrics, stain removal, and garment preservation.
- Possession of basic culinary skills and a foundational knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one major Nigerian language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa).
