Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to primary school students in subjects such as Mathematics, English, and Natural Sciences.
- Assist students with homework completion, ensuring understanding of concepts and independent problem-solving.
- Support the lead educator in planning and implementing engaging educational activities and games.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing constructive feedback and reporting any concerns to the program coordinator or lead teacher.
- Create a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to participate and learn.
- Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and parents regarding student achievements and challenges.
- Help maintain an organized and tidy learning space, including setting up and putting away materials.
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all students during the afterschool program.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required to enhance program quality and personal development.
Required Skills
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal, for effective communication and instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working with primary school-aged children.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
- Basic understanding of primary school curriculum subjects (Mathematics, English, Natural Sciences).

- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications for administrative tasks and educational resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in Education, Child Development, or a related field (e.g., NQF Level 4/5 certificate or diploma).
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, tutoring, or afterschool program setting.
- Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and educational strategies for primary school students.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Venda, Sepedi, Xitsonga) is an advantage.
