Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements in accordance with international auditing standards (ISA) and firm methodologies.
- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify potential weaknesses or areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive audit working papers, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Draft clear, concise, and professional audit reports for presentation to clients and management.
- Identify and communicate audit issues and recommendations to clients and engagement partners.
- Mentor and supervise junior audit staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards (IFRS), regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in external audit, preferably within a reputable accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professional skepticism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong academic record.
- Experience with a diverse client portfolio, including publicly listed companies or multinational corporations.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., financial services, oil & gas).
