Key Responsibilities
- Assist head bakers with ingredient preparation, accurate weighing, and precise measuring.
- Operate commercial mixers and other bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare various doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and standards.
- Shape, proof, and bake a wide range of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure perfect products.
- Decorate and finish baked goods as per company specifications.
- Package finished products attractively and efficiently for sale.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, including washing dishes and cleaning equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Support the overall bakery operations as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and precisely.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of flour (up to 25kg), and work in a warm environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation practices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) working in a bakery, kitchen, or food production environment.
- A culinary certificate or diploma from a recognized institution.
- Current Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain one.
