Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) to transport goods, packages, and parcels to designated locations within Oyingbo, Yaba, Lagos, and surrounding areas.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all mechanical, safety, and emergency components are in good working order.
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, company safety regulations, and local transportation guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and any incidents encountered.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, reporting any maintenance needs or mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with other logistical tasks as required, supporting the overall efficiency of operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or courier setting
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
- Extensive knowledge of Lagos road networks, routes, and traffic patterns, particularly within Oyingbo, Yaba, and surrounding areas
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and minor maintenance tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good physical stamina to handle loading/unloading duties and long hours of driving
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles (e.g., vans, light trucks)
- Familiarity with using GPS devices and mobile navigation applications
- Prior experience working with a reputable logistics or courier company
- OND/HND/BSc in a related field is a plus but not mandatory
