Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to transport goods and packages across specified routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and report any defects immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Load and unload packages efficiently and carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests against actual packages and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the dispatch team regarding route progress, delays, or issues.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing GIG Logistics professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and mapping tools.
- Assist with other operational duties as assigned to support logistics efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class E or higher)
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Thorough knowledge of Agege and Lagos road networks.
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and understand maps and use GPS devices.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy packages.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and reliability.
