Job Description
De-Crown Hotel is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laundry Supervisor to take charge of our bustling hotel laundry department. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the pristine conditions and high standards of hygiene that our guests expect and deserve. The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of all laundry operations, ensuring a continuous supply of impeccably clean and fresh linen for our guest rooms, F&B outlets, and staff uniforms. This encompasses everything from the initial collection of soiled items to sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and meticulous distribution.
We are looking for a detail-oriented leader with a proven track record in laundry management within a hospitality setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of laundry equipment and chemicals, and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate the performance of all laundry staff, ensuring high standards of productivity and service.
- Oversee the complete laundry cycle, including collection, sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and delivery of all hotel linens, towels, and uniforms.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure all laundered items meet the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of linen and laundry supplies, initiating orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular inspections of laundry equipment, performing minor troubleshooting and coordinating with maintenance for major repairs.
- Ensure all laundry operations comply with local health regulations, safety standards, and hotel policies.
- Develop and implement efficient workflow processes to optimize turnaround times and manage workloads effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry expenses, usage, and staff attendance.
- Handle special laundry requests from guests or other departments promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate closely with the Housekeeping Manager and other departmental heads to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Promote a positive and cooperative working environment, fostering team spirit and encouraging continuous improvement among staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a commercial or hotel laundry operation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining various laundry machinery and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of different fabric types, detergents, stain removal techniques, and washing procedures.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and inventory management.
