Red Star Express Plc is seeking a dedicated Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our dynamic team in Jikwoyi, Abuja. In this crucial full-time role, you will be the face of our company, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation and delivery of various packages, documents, and goods to our esteemed clients within Jikwoyi and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods and packages to designated locations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring goods are secure and undamaged during transit.
- Verify delivery manifests against physical packages and obtain necessary signatures from recipients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or defects promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and good working condition of the company vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class E or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable professional driving experience in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, particularly Jikwoyi and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain company vehicles responsibly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical stamina to load, unload, and transport packages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Certification in defensive driving.
- Experience with handheld devices for delivery tracking and signature capture.
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to schedules.
- Customer service experience in a delivery context.
