Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled bricklayers in all aspects of their work, including mixing mortar, transporting bricks, blocks, and other construction materials to the worksite.
- Prepare work areas by cleaning surfaces, setting up and dismantling scaffolding, and ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are readily available.
- Cut bricks and blocks to specified sizes using various tools and techniques as instructed by the bricklayer or site supervisor.
- Load and unload construction materials from delivery vehicles and move them to designated storage or work areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by regularly sweeping debris, removing waste materials, and properly storing tools and equipment.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively under direct supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, protocols, and procedures, including consistently wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other general labor tasks as required by site supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Actively learn and develop new skills and techniques under the guidance of experienced tradesmen and team leaders.
