Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and develop news stories relevant to Kaduna State for broadcast and digital platforms.

- Verify facts, cross-reference data, and ensure the accuracy and impartiality of all reports.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging scripts for radio and television news bulletins, features, and documentaries.
- Record voice-overs, present live reports from the studio or on location, and participate in panel discussions.
- Operate basic broadcasting equipment for field reporting and live crosses.
- Collaborate with camera operators, producers, and editors to produce high-quality news packages.
- Maintain an updated contact list of relevant sources and develop strong working relationships.
- Monitor social media and other news outlets for breaking stories and emerging trends.
- Adhere strictly to journalistic ethics, broadcast standards, and company editorial guidelines.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of news coverage and special reports.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hausa.
- Proven ability to research, investigate, and report on complex news stories.
- Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable understanding of journalistic ethics and media law.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Broadcast Journalist or Reporter.
- Experience covering specific beats such such as politics, economy, or social development.
- Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural landscape of Kaduna State.
- Proficiency in additional local languages spoken in Kaduna State.
- Experience with social media reporting and content creation for digital platforms.
