Job Description

Ryearch Ltd is currently seeking a diligent and physically robust Construction Labourer to become a vital part of our dynamic team based in Plymouth, Devon. This full-time position offers a superb entry point into the bustling construction industry, providing the chance to contribute significantly to a diverse array of civil engineering and building projects throughout the South West. As a key member of our site team, you will be instrumental in supporting our experienced tradespeople – including bricklayers, carpenters, groundworkers, and plant operators – ensuring that all site operations run efficiently and safely. Your daily tasks will be varied and hands-on, encompassing everything from meticulous site preparation and maintaining a clean work environment to the safe loading and unloading of construction materials, assisting with formwork, concrete pouring, and general site upkeep. We are looking for an individual who embodies reliability, possesses a strong work ethic, and demonstrates a proactive commitment to health and safety protocols at all times. The role demands an ability to perform physically demanding tasks, often outdoors in varying weather conditions, and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., bricklayers, carpenters, groundworkers) with various tasks.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely.
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, rubbish, and hazardous materials.
  • Dig trenches, compact earth, and assist with general groundwork as directed.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment on site.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies diligently.
  • Perform general site clean-up and waste management duties.
  • Assist with the erection and dismantling of temporary structures and scaffolding.
  • Support with basic landscaping tasks on finished sites.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina for manual labour.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices on a construction site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Previous experience in a construction or manual labour role.
  • Full UK driving licence.
