Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructional Design Specialist to join our team in Port Harcourt. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. You will be responsible for creating engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and other relevant resources. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance, and leverage your creative talents to translate complex information into accessible and impactful learning experiences. This role requires a strong ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines consistently, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and training requirements.
- Develop engaging and effective learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, and job aids.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content.
- Design and develop assessments to measure learning outcomes.
- Maintain and update existing training materials.
- Utilize various instructional design models and technologies.
- Conduct training evaluations and make recommendations for improvement.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Stay current on best practices in instructional design and technology.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in instructional design and development
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate)
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and theories
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in needs analysis and curriculum development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
- Experience in the energy or industrial sector
- Experience with rapid prototyping and agile development methodologies
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Experience with video editing and production
