Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Carpenter Helper to join our dynamic construction team in Abakaliki, Ebonyi. As a Carpenter Helper, you will work closely with experienced carpenters, assisting them in various tasks, preparing materials, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters in all aspects of their work, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and installing building materials.
- Transport and stage materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
- Clean and prepare job sites, ensuring a safe and organized environment by removing debris and maintaining cleanliness.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, such as hammers, saws, drills, and sanders.
- Hold materials or tools for carpenters as required, ensuring precise alignment and support.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, keeping them in good working condition.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the dismantling of temporary structures and cleanup after project completion.
- Learn and apply fundamental carpentry techniques and construction best practices.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and take instructions from experienced carpenters and supervisors.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
