Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Logistics and Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of our company’s logistics and fleet operations in Port Harcourt. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing a diverse fleet, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. You will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of all logistics and fleet activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. This will include managing a team of drivers, maintaining vehicles, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and implementing cost-saving measures. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of logistics principles, fleet management best practices, and relevant Nigerian regulations. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to a well-established and growing international energy company while further developing your leadership abilities in a dynamic and challenging setting. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage a fleet of vehicles, ensuring their proper maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Oversee the transportation of goods and personnel.
  • Manage driver schedules and performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with logistics providers and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports.
  • Manage budgets and control expenses.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of logistics and fleet personnel.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in logistics and fleet management
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Nigerian transportation regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Budget management and cost control expertise
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and fleet management
  • Experience managing a large fleet of vehicles
  • Experience with fleet management software
  • Experience working in the energy industry (preferred)
