Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles (vans, small trucks) on designated routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance needs.
- Efficiently load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Verify delivery manifests against physical inventory and obtain necessary customer signatures.
- Navigate routes effectively, adhering to traffic laws and company safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle mileage.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups, resolving minor issues professionally.
- Handle cash payments or electronic payment processes when required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or potential delays.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with warehouse tasks or sorting when not on a delivery route.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class E or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience (delivery/route driving preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, especially Amuwo Odofin and surrounding areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 kg
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Customer service orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (SSCE/GCE)
- Previous experience with a logistics or courier company
- Familiarity with delivery tracking software or mobile applications
