Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our dynamic team at Lulu Hypermarket in Kalba, Sharjah. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal presentation and availability of products within your designated categories, directly influencing customer engagement and sales performance. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere shelf stocking; you will be the visual architect of our store’s appeal, implementing effective planograms, creating eye-catching displays, and ensuring all merchandise is impeccably organized, priced, and labeled. This position demands a keen understanding of consumer buying patterns, a proactive approach to inventory management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with store management and suppliers to execute promotional strategies and new product launches flawlessly. You will monitor stock levels, identify fast-moving and slow-moving items, and provide actionable insights to optimize product assortment and reduce waste. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and quality of perishable goods, adhering strictly to hygiene and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards across designated product categories.
- Ensure timely and accurate product placement, pricing, and labeling on shelves and displays.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify stock discrepancies, and assist in replenishment orders to prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Implement promotional displays and marketing campaigns as per company guidelines.
- Regularly check product expiry dates, freshness, and quality, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO).
- Collaborate with store management and sales teams to optimize product assortment and display effectiveness.
- Gather and report feedback on product performance, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within assigned sections.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and direct them to relevant sections when required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Merchandiser, preferably in a hypermarket or large retail environment.
- Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and retail display techniques.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift, and move merchandise.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Retail Management or Marketing is a plus.
- Experience with FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) products.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite).
