We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard for night surveillance duties at a prominent shopping centre located in Akin Adesola, Victoria Island. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment for premises, assets, and any overnight personnel. As a Night Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the eyes and ears of the shopping centre during off-hours, responsible for preventing unauthorized access, detecting suspicious activities, and responding promptly to any security breaches or emergencies. Your duties will involve extensive patrolling, monitoring CCTV systems, documenting incidents, and ensuring the integrity of the property. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the shopping centre premises, both internal and external, during night hours to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to suspicious activities or security threats promptly.
- Inspect and verify the integrity of all entry points, including doors, windows, and gates, ensuring they are securely locked.
- Record and report any incidents, unusual occurrences, or security breaches in detail, maintaining accurate logbooks and incident reports.
- Respond to alarm activations and investigate their cause, escalating issues to management or emergency services as required.
- Enforce shopping centre policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by any individuals present during night hours.
- Provide assistance to staff or emergency personnel during critical situations, such as medical emergencies or fire alarms.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, including CCTV, access control systems, and communication devices.
- Conduct perimeter checks and ensure all exterior lighting is functional for optimal visibility.
- Collaborate with day shift security teams to ensure seamless handover of duties and information.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar protective service role.
- Excellent observation and vigilance skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate CCTV systems and other security technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
