Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the pickup and delivery of packages, documents, and other goods within designated local routes in Lagos.
- Ensure timely dispatch and collection of items, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Verify the accuracy of delivery manifests against physical items before departure and upon delivery.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues.
- Handle cash payments for Cash-on-Delivery (COD) services accurately and submit records as required.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading packages as needed.
- Represent GIG Logistics with professionalism and provide excellent customer service at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class B minimum).
- Proven ability to drive safely and responsibly.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, especially Victoria Island and surrounding areas.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and reliability.
- Physical fitness to handle packages and stand/sit for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of professional driving or dispatch experience.
- Experience in a logistics or courier service company.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
