Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join our dynamic team at Samjoe Auto & Mechanical Engineering. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in assessing, repairing, and restoring damaged vehicle bodywork to its original or pre-accident condition. This position requires a keen eye for detail, extensive knowledge of various body repair techniques, and proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment. You will work on a diverse range of vehicles, from passenger cars to light commercial vehicles, ensuring all repairs meet our stringent quality standards and comply with safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair methods.
- Remove and replace damaged vehicle body panels, components, and structures.
- Straighten and align vehicle chassis and frames using specialized jigs and equipment.
- Perform various types of welding (MIG, spot welding) and soldering to repair metal components.
- Utilize body hammers, dollies, fillers, and sanders to smooth and reshape vehicle surfaces.
- Ensure the structural integrity and safety of repaired vehicles meet industry standards.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with workshop policies.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with painters, mechanics, and other technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Conduct quality checks on all repairs to ensure they meet the highest standards.
- Document all repairs and parts used accurately for billing and record-keeping purposes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater in an automotive repair setting.
- Proficiency in advanced body repair techniques and panel fabrication.
- Expertise in various welding methods, including MIG and spot welding.
- Strong understanding of vehicle chassis alignment and structural repair.
- Ability to effectively use a wide range of body repair tools and equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills.

- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
