As a Stocker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our shelves are well-stocked, organized, and appealing to our customers, directly contributing to a seamless shopping experience. This physically active role involves receiving, organizing, and distributing merchandise throughout the store, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring product availability. You will work closely with other store associates and management to keep the sales floor tidy, safe, and fully merchandised according to company standards. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming merchandise, ensuring accurate counts and condition.
- Organize and store products in designated areas, including stockrooms and sales floor, following company guidelines.
- Replenish shelves, displays, and racks promptly to maintain optimal stock levels on the sales floor.
- Rotate stock to ensure older products are sold first (FIFO – First-In, First-Out) and minimize waste.
- Verify product expiry dates and remove expired or damaged items from shelves.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain an organized backroom and storage areas.
- Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including stockrooms and sales floor aisles.
- Respond to customer inquiries for product locations and assist sales associates as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or stocking role is a plus.
