Zenith Bank Plc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-level Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic IT Security team in Jos, Plateau. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems (e.g., SIEM, intrusion detection systems) for alerts, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
  • Assist in the initial analysis and triage of security events and alerts, escalating critical issues to senior analysts.
  • Support the incident response team in investigating, containing, and recovering from security breaches.
  • Conduct basic vulnerability scanning and assist in the interpretation of scan results.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation, including procedures and incident reports.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Perform routine security checks and audits to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and enforce security policies and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts.
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS) and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security features.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and security challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of common cyber attack vectors and mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Google Cybersecurity Certificate.
  • Familiarity with security tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms, vulnerability scanners, or firewalls.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Previous internship or project experience in an IT or cybersecurity-related role.
