Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations to understand design preferences, fabric choices, and specific requirements for custom garments.
- Take accurate body measurements and create precise patterns tailored to individual client specifications.
- Cut fabric with meticulous care and attention to detail, minimizing waste and ensuring pattern alignment.
- Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines proficiently to construct garments, ensuring strong seams and neat finishes.
- Perform fittings with clients, making necessary alterations and adjustments to achieve a perfect fit and desired silhouette.
- Execute complex sewing techniques, including embellishments, intricate detailing, and delicate fabric handling.
- Manage alterations and repairs for existing garments, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
- Collaborate with the design team and other colleagues to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Uphold the brand's reputation for quality and craftsmanship in every garment produced.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Dressmaker, Seamstress, or Tailor.
- Proficiency in pattern drafting, cutting, and garment construction.
- Expertise in operating various sewing machines (single-needle, overlock, etc.).
- Strong understanding of different fabric types and their properties.
- Exceptional hand-sewing skills and attention to intricate details.
- Ability to perform precise measurements and complex alterations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Portfolio showcasing previous dressmaking or tailoring work.
