Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently for local pickup routes within Ogudu and surrounding areas of Lagos.
- Ensure timely collection of packages and goods from clients, adhering to scheduled pickup times.
- Verify the accuracy of packages against pickup manifests and obtain necessary signatures.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are securely loaded and transported without damage.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure it is always in good working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and customer service teams regarding pickup status, delays, or issues.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
- Represent GIG Logistics professionally and courteously to all clients and the public.
- Assist with loading and unloading as required, ensuring proper handling of items.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class E or G)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or courier services.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, particularly Ogudu and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding and adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 25 kg.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and smartphone applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a defensive driving course.
- Previous experience with a logistics or courier company.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Customer service experience.
