Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting various crops (e.g., maize, cassava, vegetables).
- Participate in the care and feeding of livestock, including poultry, goats, and cattle.
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and equipment (e.g., tillers, irrigation pumps) under supervision.
- Perform general farm maintenance, including fencing, cleaning barns, and upkeep of farm grounds.
- Assist with irrigation tasks, ensuring crops receive adequate water.
- Monitor crop and animal health, reporting any signs of disease or pest infestation to supervisors.
- Support in the preparation of land for planting, including tilling, fertilizing, and weeding.
- Handle and store farm produce appropriately to maintain quality.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with other farm staff to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks outdoors for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
