Job Description
Halogen Security Company Limited is seeking a vigilant and dedicated Junior Security Officer to join our team as an Event Monitoring (Venue Guard) in Ilasa, Mushin. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment. As a Venue Guard, you will be the first line of defense, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of assigned premises, assets, and personnel, particularly during events or peak operational hours. You will play a crucial role in access control, surveillance, and emergency response, contributing directly to the smooth operation and protection of our clients’ interests. This position requires an individual who is proactive, physically fit, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a security team. We are looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and uphold Halogen’s high standards of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises to deter and detect security breaches.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and promptly report any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Control access to the venue, verifying credentials, and ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
- Respond effectively to alarms, emergencies, and disruptive incidents, following established protocols.
- Provide clear and concise incident reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and witness statements.
- Assist visitors and employees with inquiries, providing directions and maintaining a helpful yet firm demeanor.
- Enforce company and client security policies and procedures consistently.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness at all times.
- Conduct thorough inspections of entry and exit points, ensuring their integrity.
Required Skills
- Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods, patrol, and respond quickly to situations.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle difficult situations calmly.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and best practices.
- Ability to operate basic security equipment (e.g., walkie-talkies, access control systems).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a security, military, or law enforcement role.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of a recognized security training course.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring systems.
- Residency within Ilasa, Mushin, or a close proximity.
