We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Staff member to join our dedicated facilities team for the essential morning shift at Corona School Yaba. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming of floors, and meticulous dusting of all surfaces in classrooms, administrative offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all restrooms, ensuring toilets, sinks, and mirrors are spotless, and replenishing all necessary supplies (e.g., soap, toilet paper, paper towels).
- Efficiently empty all waste bins and safely transport waste materials to designated disposal and recycling areas.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and reflective surfaces using appropriate, streak-free cleaning solutions.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is meticulously maintained, properly stored, and operated in a safe and responsible manner.
- Proactively monitor school premises for any observed maintenance needs, damages, or potential safety hazards and promptly report them to the facilities manager.
- Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and protocols, which are critically important in a school environment.
- Provide assistance with the setup and tidying up for various school events or special activities as and when required.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly report needs for replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with other cleaning staff and the broader school team to ensure overall campus cleanliness and a positive working atmosphere.
Required Skills
- A minimum of one year of proven experience in cleaning or custodial services, with a preference for experience gained in a school, hospital, or similar institutional environment.
- Solid knowledge of diverse cleaning methods, effective cleaning products, and various cleaning equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to safely and efficiently operate standard cleaning machinery (e.g., vacuum cleaners, floor polishers).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a consistently thorough, methodical approach to all tasks.
- Unwavering reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Capability to follow detailed instructions accurately and to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures and precautions relevant to cleaning operations.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs/11 kg), and standing for extended periods.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a High School Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience specifically working in a school environment, especially with children.
