Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior scientists and researchers in the design, setup, and execution of various laboratory experiments and research projects.
- Prepare samples, reagents, solutions, and culture media according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Accurately record, organize, and maintain experimental data, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and digital systems.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis and generate reports under the guidance of senior staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and all safety regulations.
- Manage laboratory inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to strict quality control procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and assist in resolving technical issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions and problem-solving.
- Learn and apply new laboratory techniques and procedures as required by research projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Fundamental understanding of general laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in basic laboratory calculations and solution preparation.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data entry and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in laboratory work.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and adapting to new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or academic project experience in a research or diagnostic laboratory setting.
