Prowa Architectural Design & Construction is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Architect to join our growing team in Wuse 2, Abuja. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a pivotal role in the design and delivery of diverse projects, from concept through to completion. As a Professional Architect, you will be instrumental in all project phases, contributing your expertise to design conceptualization, technical detailing, project management, and crucial client liaison. You will work closely with senior architects, project managers, and junior staff, providing invaluable guidance and mentorship while driving project timelines and ensuring the highest quality standards are met for every project. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the conceptualization, development, and execution of architectural designs from initial brief to final construction, ensuring creative and functional solutions.
- Prepare and present compelling design proposals, including sketches, renderings, 3D models, and comprehensive technical drawings, to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and schedules in strict compliance with relevant Nigerian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery, overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
- Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and assessments to monitor construction progress, resolve on-site issues, and ensure strict adherence to design intent and quality standards.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, including structural engineers, MEP consultants, quantity surveyors, and contractors.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and other submittals from contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior architects and architectural assistants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
- Stay abreast of local and international industry trends, emerging technologies, and cutting-edge sustainable design practices.
- Ensure all architectural documentation is accurate, complete, well-organized, and compliant with local regulatory requirements for submission and approval.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification professional experience in an architectural design firm.
- Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong, diverse portfolio demonstrating exceptional design capabilities, technical proficiency, and project management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian building codes, local regulations, and current construction practices and materials.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet stringent deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a proactive and collaborative member of a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registration with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) or equivalent professional architectural body.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and/or LEED accreditation.
- Proficiency in advanced 3D rendering software such as V-Ray, Enscape, or Lumion.
- Demonstrated experience in client relationship management and participation in business development activities.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
