Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and resolving basic network connectivity issues.
- Provide technical support to end-users regarding network-related problems, escalating complex issues to senior administrators.
- Perform routine network maintenance tasks, such as cable management, device cleaning, and firmware updates.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, IP addresses, and configuration details.
- Assist in implementing network security measures under supervision, ensuring data integrity and system protection.
- Participate in network projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new deployments, as directed.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of network services with other university systems.
- Stay updated with the latest network technologies and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches) and operating systems.
