Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and equipment specifications for diverse projects.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination analyses, using specialized software.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant national (e.g., Nigerian Electrical Safety Standards) and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, material lists, and scope of work documents.
- Provide technical support and guidance to sales teams, project managers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil) to ensure integrated and optimized system solutions.
- Conduct site visits as necessary for data collection, system assessment, or commissioning support.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance system performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve engineering processes and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues and propose effective corrective actions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical system design and engineering.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Revit MEP).
- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, motor control, and industrial automation principles.
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, PSS/E).
- In-depth understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional registration/certification (e.g., COREN, PMP, relevant Schneider Electric certifications).
- Experience with renewable energy systems (solar PV, battery storage) or building management systems (BMS).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles as they apply to industrial control systems.
- Project management experience or certification.
- Experience working with international clients or on large-scale infrastructure projects.
