Job Description
Emaar Properties is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Handyman to join our facilities management team in Downtown Dubai. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the optimal upkeep and functionality of our diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties, contributing significantly to the comfort and satisfaction of our residents and tenants. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, problem-solving individual with a broad range of technical skills, capable of performing various maintenance and repair tasks efficiently and to the highest standards. You will be an integral part of maintaining Emaar’s reputation for quality and service in one of the world’s most iconic districts. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safe and aesthetically pleasing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on residential and commercial properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from tenants and property management, troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify and address potential maintenance issues before they escalate.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of building systems and assets.
- Assist skilled technicians and contractors with larger repair or renovation projects as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and tenants, ensuring their concerns are addressed professionally and courteously.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar maintenance role, preferably within a hospitality or large residential/commercial property setting.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and practical knowledge of various tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with tenants, colleagues, and contractors.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certifications in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- First Aid and Basic Fire Safety certification.
- Proficiency in multiple languages (English and Arabic preferred).
