Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Engineers and Site Managers in overseeing daily site activities, ensuring operations align with project plans and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Help with the preparation and review of technical documents, reports, drawings, and schedules.
- Collect and analyze data, including measurements, material quantities, and resource utilization, to aid in project tracking and reporting.
- Support in the verification of materials and equipment deliveries against specifications and orders.
- Assist in maintaining accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Liaise with sub-contractors and site personnel under the guidance of senior staff to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
- Contribute to the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site.
- Operate basic surveying equipment and assist in setting out works.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Provide administrative support to the project team as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced construction environment.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions on a construction site.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous industrial attachment (IT) or internship experience in a construction or engineering firm.
- Familiarity with Nigerian building codes and construction regulations.
- Basic knowledge of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Valid driver's license.
