Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, and catering stations.
- Support the catering team with food preparation, plating, and presentation as directed by the head chef or catering manager.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner during events, adhering to service standards.
- Ensure timely replenishment of food and drink stations, maintaining presentation standards and cleanliness throughout the event.
- Interact positively with guests, addressing inquiries and ensuring their satisfaction with the catering service.
- Assist with inventory management of catering supplies and equipment before and after events, reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas and event spaces, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Transport equipment, food, and beverages to and from event locations within the premises safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen, events, and other operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Support special requests from guests or event organizers as needed to ensure a memorable experience.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, dynamic event environment.
- Strong teamwork and effective communication abilities, able to take direction and collaborate.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and a working knowledge of English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 3 months) in a hospitality, catering, or event setting.
