Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and manage the check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including assigning rooms and processing payments.
- Handle all incoming phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate information and assistance.
- Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel's Property Management System (PMS).
- Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provide detailed information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions, offering recommendations as appropriate.
- Maintain an organized and tidy reception area, ensuring it always presents a welcoming appearance.
- Process financial transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and billing inquiries, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant) to ensure guest requests are met promptly.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and preparing daily reports.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety, security, and guest privacy.
- Assist with guest luggage handling and transportation arrangements when required.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a hospitality or service-oriented role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and email.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by a live-in role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a Property Management System (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in an additional local or international language.
- Knowledge of local attractions, transportation, and amenities in Ogudu/Kosofe, Lagos.
- At least 1 year of experience in a hotel front office or guest relations role.
