Job Description
Are you passionate about traditional Nigerian cuisine and have a flair for frying crispy, delicious Akara? Genesis Restaurant, a leading name in Nigeria’s hospitality sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Akara Fryer to join our vibrant team in Port Harcourt. At Genesis, we pride ourselves on offering authentic, high-quality Nigerian meals, and our Akara is a beloved staple for many of our patrons. This role is more than just cooking; it’s about preserving a culinary tradition, ensuring every Akara served meets our exacting standards of taste and presentation, and contributing to the overall dining experience that keeps our customers coming back. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of consistency, and is eager to contribute to a renowned brand.
As an Akara Fryer, you will be an integral part of our kitchen staff, responsible for the entire Akara production process, from selecting the finest beans to the final golden-brown perfection. This includes the careful sorting and soaking of beans, precise grinding and mixing to achieve the perfect batter consistency, and expert frying techniques that ensure each Akara is light, fluffy on the inside, and delightfully crispy on the outside. Your role will directly impact customer satisfaction, as Akara is often enjoyed as a quick snack, a hearty breakfast, or an accompaniment to other dishes. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours, requiring efficiency, excellent time management, and unwavering attention to detail to maintain our high volume and quality standards. You will be expected to manage your station independently while also collaborating effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Genesis Restaurant is committed to providing a clean, safe, and supportive working environment. We adhere to stringent food safety and hygiene protocols, and successful candidates will be expected to uphold these standards rigorously. We invest in our employees, offering opportunities for skill development and career advancement within our diverse range of operations, including our renowned restaurants, hotels, and comprehensive catering services. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a stable career with a reputable organization that values its staff. Join a team where your culinary skills are valued, your contribution helps us continue to be a household name in Nigerian hospitality, and you play a direct role in bringing authentic Nigerian flavours to our customers. If you are enthusiastic about delivering culinary excellence, thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented setting, and are eager to master the art of Akara frying, we encourage you to apply and become a part of the Genesis family in Port Harcourt. We believe in nurturing talent and celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Nigeria. Come, be the master behind our signature Akara!
