As a Warehouse Operator, you will be an essential part of our operations, responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and dispatch of goods within our state-of-the-art facility. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from receiving inbound stock and ensuring its accurate placement, to picking and packing orders, and preparing them for outbound delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, ensuring accuracy against delivery notes.
- Efficiently sort, stack, and store products in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Prepare orders for dispatch, including labelling, wrapping, and loading onto delivery vehicles.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stocktakes, to maintain accurate records.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, after successful completion of provided training and certification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering strictly to company safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and development opportunities, particularly in forklift operation and safety.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to consistent attendance.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Grade 10 or Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is an advantage but not essential.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
