Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents with precision.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and contribute to accurate general ledger entries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems, both physical and digital.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as required by management.
  • Support the finance team with month-end closing procedures and ad-hoc projects.
  • Respond to financial inquiries from internal departments and external vendors efficiently and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Perform data entry tasks with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (spreadsheets, basic formulas).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information discreetly.
  • Proactive and eager to learn new systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) with Accounting as a subject.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related business field.
  • Prior exposure to accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP) is advantageous but not strictly required.
  • A valid South African driver's license (Code B/08) could be beneficial for future growth, though not essential for this role.
