Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to lead our hotel laundry operations at De Santos Hotel. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective processing of all hotel linen, including guest room linen, restaurant linens, uniforms, and staff personal laundry as part of the ‘room & meals’ benefit package. The successful candidate will ensure that all items are meticulously cleaned, pressed, and maintained to the highest standards of quality and hygiene, reflecting our commitment to guest comfort and operational excellence. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of modern laundry techniques and equipment. You will be instrumental in managing a dedicated team, optimizing workflows, controlling inventory, and adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols. Your contribution will directly impact guest satisfaction and the overall smooth running of our hotel operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel laundry department, ensuring efficient processing of all linen items.
  • Manage and motivate a team of laundry attendants, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards for washing, drying, ironing, folding, and mending of all hotel linen and uniforms.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of laundry equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of linen supplies, chemicals, and other laundry essentials, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations within the laundry area.
  • Develop and implement efficient laundry processing methods to optimize productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of linen usage, damaged items, and inventory levels.
  • Handle guest and staff laundry requests with professionalism and efficiency, particularly those related to the 'room & meals' benefit.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Housekeeping, F&B) to ensure a consistent supply of clean linen.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in laundry operations, preferably within a hotel or large-scale commercial setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of various fabrics, laundry chemicals, and equipment operation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer proficiency for inventory management and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of an OND/HND or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a hotel laundry department.
  • Certifications in laundry operations or relevant hospitality training.
  • Familiarity with environmental best practices in laundry services.
