Job Description
We are seeking a charismatic, dedicated, and highly customer-focused Full-Time Restaurant Waiter to join our vibrant team at EPIC Hotel & Suites Kayonza. This is a critical customer-facing role where you will be the welcoming face of our exquisite dining experience, responsible for ensuring every guest enjoys impeccable service from the moment they step into our elegantly appointed restaurant until they depart with a smile. Your primary goal will be to provide an outstanding and memorable dining experience through attentive and personalized service, accurate order taking, expert knowledge of our menu, and the prompt, graceful delivery of delicious food and refreshing beverages. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests upon their arrival, presenting menus and daily specials.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
- Monitor dining areas to anticipate guest needs and respond to requests proactively.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with patience and diplomacy.
- Process payments accurately using the restaurant's POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for various shifts or events.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in basic math for handling payments and making change.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field.
