We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Warehouse Coordinator to join our vibrant Logistics Team in Nanyuki. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our supply chain, ensuring that our high-quality horticultural products are stored, managed, and dispatched seamlessly. As a Warehouse Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our operations, overseeing the daily activities of our warehouse, from receiving incoming goods to preparing outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, optimizing storage layouts, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with quality standards specific to fresh produce. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of horticultural products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), conducting regular stock counts and reconciliations.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to enhance efficiency and ensure proper storage conditions for perishable goods.
- Implement and enforce strict adherence to food safety, quality control, and health & safety standards within the warehouse environment.
- Coordinate with the logistics and transport teams to schedule timely dispatches and ensure efficient loading/unloading of vehicles.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a productive and safe working culture.
- Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, operational issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or logistics coordination, preferably within the agricultural or FMCG sector.
- Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CILT, APICS).
- Experience with cold chain logistics and handling perishable goods.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and export documentation for agricultural products.
- Forklift operation certification.
