We are seeking dedicated and meticulous Housekeeping Staff to join our vibrant team at Nomndeni Celokuhle Lodge. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas, to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Perform routine duties such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, changing bed linen, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing amenities and supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, dining areas, and restrooms.
- Inspect rooms and common areas for any maintenance issues, damages, or necessary repairs and report them promptly and accurately to the supervisor.
- Handle guest requests courteously, efficiently, and professionally, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction at all times.
- Manage laundry duties, which includes collecting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and organizing all linen, towels, and guest clothing as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest room amenities, reporting stock levels and ordering needs to management.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations set by the lodge and local authorities.
- Work collaboratively and harmoniously with other team members, including front desk and maintenance staff, to ensure smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
- Handle lost and found items according to established lodge procedures, ensuring secure storage and proper documentation.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as a valued part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic verbal communication skills in English to interact with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures effectively and consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role, preferably within the hospitality industry (e.g., hotel, guesthouse).
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to speak additional local languages common in Mpumalanga (e.g., isiZulu, Sesotho, Xhosa) is a plus.
- A strong customer service orientation and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
