Job Description
Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a highly creative and skilled Leather Goods Designer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative and high-quality leather goods, ensuring alignment with current fashion trends and the company’s brand identity. This role requires a strong understanding of leather craftsmanship, design principles, and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with our production team to ensure efficient manufacturing and high-quality standards. You will also be involved in market research to identify upcoming trends and customer preferences. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design new leather goods, including handbags, wallets, belts, and other accessories.
- Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for production.
- Source and select high-quality leather and other materials.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Maintain awareness of current fashion trends and competitor offerings.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and customer preferences.
- Present design concepts to the management team.
- Manage the design process from initial concept to final production.
- Maintain accurate records of designs, materials, and costs.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of leather craftsmanship and manufacturing processes
- Excellent design skills and a keen eye for detail
- Experience in creating technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in sketching and hand-rendering techniques
- Knowledge of different leather types and finishes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Leather Goods Design, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leather goods design
- Portfolio demonstrating a strong track record of successful designs
- Experience working with a manufacturing team
- Experience in market research and trend forecasting
